Countering the Insider Threat in the Higher Education – are we doing enough?

Australia’s higher education sector is increasingly vulnerable to the threat of malicious insiders, having severe financial and reputational consequences as well as matters of national security. Research espionage is a real threat.

Data held by higher education facilities can include personally identifiable student and staff data through to highly sensitive research information. Insider threats relating to sabotage, espionage, and coercion are currently connected to over half of cyber incidents globally (intentionally or inadvertently).

In this webinar we:

  • Learn about the real threat malicious insiders pose, the impact that can be caused, and how this relates to higher education
  • Discuss practical examples of insider threats
  • Gain insights into key considerations for an effective insider threat program, and how these could apply to the higher education sector.

Recording is available for CAUDIT Members.
